Customs & documentation

Good documentation prevents avoidable delays.

Most customs delays begin with paperwork that does not match the cargo. Wideair reviews shipment documents against the mode, commodity, origin, destination and commercial terms, and coordinates clearance through licensed customs partners.

Where delays come from

Customs authorities compare what is declared with what is on the vehicle. Delays follow when the description is vague, the value does not match the invoice, the classification looks wrong, or a certificate is missing. Fixing these at the start is far cheaper than fixing them at the port.

Our role is to check the shipment documents for consistency, flag what looks wrong, and coordinate the clearance process, so that your cargo does not sit waiting for an answer.

Good to know

This is not a customs checklist. The exact document set depends on the commodity, country and shipment. We use it as a starting point and confirm requirements for your specific cargo.

Frequently asked questions

Is Wideair a customs broker?

Where customs brokerage is required, shipment details are handled through the appropriate licensed clearance partner or service provider, coordinated by Wideair.

What is an HS code and why does it matter?

The Harmonised System code classifies goods for customs. It determines duty rates, licensing and statistical reporting. A wrong code can mean the wrong duty or a delay.

How early should I send documents?

As early as possible, and before the cargo is ready. Draft documents can be reviewed before shipping, which gives time to fix problems.
