WIDEAIRCARGO & SHIPPING SOLUTIONS

Worldwide door-to-door logistics

Door-to-door shipping, from pickup to final handover.

A door shipment involves more than the final truck. Pickup, international transport, customs clearance, local handling and delivery must all line up with the agreed Incoterm. Wideair plans them together, so you deal with one team rather than five.

  • Pickup to delivery
  • Air, sea or multimodal
  • Customs coordination
  • One shipment plan

One shipment plan, from origin to consignee

Door service is possible by air, sea or multimodal movement. We confirm collection timing, vehicle requirements, packing and the handover address at origin; plan the international leg; coordinate clearance; and arrange delivery at destination according to the terms of sale.

Where destination delivery is needed, we work with our overseas agents and associates to complete local clearance, handling and last-mile delivery.

What we coordinate

  • Pickup planning: timing, vehicle, packing and handover location
  • International transport by air, sea or multimodal routing
  • Export and import customs coordination through licensed partners
  • Destination handling, release and final-mile delivery
  • Delivery scheduling with the consignee

DAP, DDP and who pays what

Under the Incoterms 2020 rule DAP (Delivered at Place), the seller delivers to the named place, but the buyer clears the goods for import and pays duties and taxes. Under DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), the seller also takes on import clearance, duties and taxes. DDP can look attractive to a buyer, but it places compliance and cost risk on the seller in the destination country.

We help you choose the term that matches your commercial agreement and tell you early if a door service is not practical for a destination. See our Incoterms overview.

Good to know

Door service scope depends on the destination. Local customs rules, delivery access, commodity restrictions and delivery terms all affect what can be offered. We confirm scope in writing before booking.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between door-to-door and port-to-port?

Port-to-port covers only the main international leg between two airports or seaports. Door-to-door adds pickup, customs and delivery at the ends. It is more convenient but involves more parties and documents.

Who handles customs at the destination?

Destination clearance is handled by a licensed local broker or our associate in that country, coordinated by Wideair. Who pays duties and taxes depends on the Incoterm.

Can you deliver to a business address and a residential address?

Delivery requirements differ by country and carrier. Share the destination and consignee type when you request a quote and we will confirm what is possible.
